1) Dr. Hazari's visit and Lab Revitalization. Received 5 emails from Dr. Hazari. Excited to see students involved in the program. Students will send thank you. He was given a schematic of the school grounds. He is preparing a budget for the revitalization. May include UT graduate students working with our students.
Would like to see collaboration: Biology-Chemistry-Health Sciences and Engineering-Mathematics-Physics. Kendall is currently collaborating with Julie and Brooke.
Sam and Julie: Please see if you can find individuals to suggest renovations to your specific labs.
2) Upcoming TEE and TSTA Meetings. GRITS. Kendall will attend the TSTA conference. Mark and Sam will attend the TSTA conference. both in November. Spread the word about the GRITS workshop. Brad will announce to school in the morning.
3) Tennessee Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Meeting every Wednesday @ 7:45 in Ms. Wolfenbargers room. Students are reading anything and everything regarding STEM Initiatives and Business Models. Students will develop a thesis statement in 1 weeks.
4) Curriculum Propose curriculum for next semester. These will be trial collaborations with results used to formalize the curriculum for next year. Pursue STEM endorsement. Board needs to adopt the science research class.
5) Fieldtrips and Fun Colleen suggested that we visit and labs at Oak Ridge HS. Visit STEM schools with survey for symposium. Frisbee Golf.
6) Outreach Matt and Katie. Presentations for Mr. Rowland's B2 and B4. Team will ask Mr. Britt to gauge School Board interest and what they would like to see as the next step. We need to do presentations at the Middle Schools (see Patsy Russell - Science, Monica David- Algebra, see Tech Lab at HMS).
7) Committees Do a timeline. Complete in 2 week. What committees do we need? Committees will meet during regular STEM meetings.
